The following information is in reference to the status of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
Routine
The Emergency Management system is conducting normal daily activities with incidents being handled with existing resources, policies and guidelines. Current conditions are being monitored by appropriate agencies and departments. A "local emergency" declaration does not exist.
Increased Readiness
A situation has developed or threatens to develop which will potentially require agencies and departments to take action under the Emergency Operations Plan. A "local emergency" declaration may exist in anticipation of significant involvement or resource pre-deployment. Current conditions are being monitored by appropriate agencies and departments with situational reports being disseminated as necessary. A change to "increased readiness" status is generally the result of an approaching significant weather event, potential for public health situation or emergency arising or a plausible threat of a terrorist event without a specific location or time identified.
Response Operations: Condition I
A situation has developed or threatens to develop requiring the activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to facilitate coordinated response efforts. Staffing of the EOC is on a 24-hour rotational basis by Public Safety personnel only (Fire-Rescue, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management). A "local emergency" declaration may exist or is being considered due to significant involvement or resource pre-deployment.
Response Operations: Condition II
A situation has developed or threatens to develop requiring the activation of the EOC to facilitate coordinated response efforts. Staffing of the EOC is on a 24-hour rotational basis by a combination of public safety personnel (Fire-Rescue, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Management) and agencies assigned to the functional areas of Public Health, Mass Care, and Public Works. A "local emergency" declaration is being considered or has been issued due to the significant involvement by agencies and departments in response to the event.
Response Operations: Condition III
A situation has developed or threatens to develop requiring the activation of the EOC to facilitate coordinated response efforts. Staffing of the EOC is on a 24-hour rotational basis by public safety personnel (Fire-Rescue, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Management), and agencies and departments assigned to the functional areas of Public Health, Mass Care, Public Works, Public Information, Purchasing / Logistics, Damage Assessment, and Amateur Radio. A "local emergency" declaration is being considered or has been issued due to the significant involvement by agencies and departments in response to the event.
Recovery Operations
Activities are shifting from the EOC towards a recovery coordination center or a disaster field office for implementation of various local, state, or federal recovery programs. While agencies and departments are still involved in the event, the Emergency Operations Center is returning to a decreased status level.
