The county Commissioner of the Revenue is the chief tax assessing officer.  He administers the assessments for business and individuals in the following areas:

  • Real Estate Taxes
  • Personal Property Taxes
  • Machinery and Tools Taxes
  • Business License fees
  • Consumer utility taxes

The Commissioner also spends considerable time working on state income taxes, helping citizens complete their returns and performing initial processing prior to delivery of the forms to the State department of Taxation.

  • Fourth quarter Estimated Income Tax due

January 1 - March 1

  • File with Commissioner of Revenue

March 1

  • Last day for filing Business License without penalty

May 1

  • State Income Tax due
  • First Quarter Estimated Income Tax due

June 5

  • First half of Real Estate Tax due

June 15

  • Second Quarter Estimated Income Tax due

September 15

  • Third Quarter Estimated Income Tax due

October 5

  • Personal Property Taxes due

November 1

  • Land Use Applications due before Nov. 1

December 5

  • Second half Real Estate Tax due
